Paddock was designed as a alternative cabinet war room in the Dollis Hill area of London. It takes the form of a large underground bunker on two levels with a number of rooms. Due mainly to the damp conditions and distance from the the centre of London, it was only for two meetings, Churchill himself being present at one of them. After the war the Post Office occupied the surface buildings and utilised the bunker, but it has remained abandoned since the 1970s. Today, the bunker is owned by the company who purchased the land above for housing, who open it twice a year. It still suffers with persistant water ingress, and the are no plans to restore it further.
